Yup! it really works!
Why don't you plug yourself into that motor and do some more blogging?
Like:
Map the phase imbalance created by your little mtor and show the math.
What is the difference between AC and DC?
Which one (AC/DC) is better suited for motors, and which one is better suited for lighting and heating? Why?
This motor was really cool. How about a picture and post about the crane you recently made. That's even more impressive, I think. Let's write a little more with those pictures too. :-)
